Dance is one of the most demanding disciplines in the world, not just physically, but mentally. Every audition, every rehearsal, every performance brings with it a unique combination of pressure, self-doubt, comparison, and fear. And yet very few dancers are ever taught how to manage the mental side of what they do.

The Confident Dancer changes that.

Created by Terry Hyde, dancer, performer, and mindset coach, this course gives dancers the practical tools, techniques, and understanding they need to build genuine mental resilience. Whether you’re struggling with audition nerves, imposter syndrome, performance anxiety, or simply the relentless inner critic that tells you you’re not good enough, this course meets you where you are.

Drawing on proven techniques from breath work and neuroscience to journaling, visualisation, and cognitive reframing, The Confident Dancer is built specifically for the unique pressures of a dancer’s world. This isn’t generic self-help, it’s a course that understands your industry, your training environment, and the very specific challenges that come with putting your body and artistry on the line, every single day.

Through a combination of guided lessons, demonstrations, practical exercises, and an in-depth Q&A podcast with Isabella, you will finish this course with a completely new relationship with your own mind and with the confidence to take that into every studio, stage, and audition room you walk into.

About Terry Hyde

Terry Hyde is a former professional dancer turned mindset coach and psychotherapist, with a career that spans the stage, the studio, and the therapy room.

Having trained and performed at a professional level, Terry knows firsthand the unique pressures that come with life as a dancer — the relentless evaluations, the audition nerves, the injuries, the comparison, and the deep connection between identity and performance that makes this world unlike any other. He has lived the culture from the inside, and that lived experience is at the heart of everything he does.

After retiring from performance, Terry retrained as a psychotherapist and counsellor, specialising in working with dancers and performing artists. He understands that for performers, mental and emotional challenges rarely exist in isolation — they are woven into the body, the training environment, and the very way a dancer sees themselves. That understanding shapes how he works with every client and student he encounters.

Terry’s approach brings together professional psychotherapy training, practical mindset coaching techniques, and a genuine knowledge of what it feels like to stand in the wings before a performance, to face a room full of judges, or to question whether you’re good enough. Many of the people he works with say that this combination — the professional training and the shared experience — is what makes the difference.

Through The Confident Dancer, Terry brings his expertise to a wider audience, giving dancers at every stage of their journey the tools to build real mental resilience, silence their inner critic, and perform with the confidence they have always been capable of.
